Taste a sound, hear a flavour

Taste a sound, hear a flavour… Morceau is a synaesthetic performance experience at the intersection of music and cooking, combining taste, touch, smell and hearing, as well as visual pleasure. Conceived by Julie Rothhahn and Raphaëlle Latini, the installation is first an instrument whose raw material is cacao at different stages of transformation.

Cacao as an instrument

Handling cacao generates its own sounds, played alongside those produced by pre-recorded chocolate LPs also made as part of the installation. Pieces of the record are then offered to the audience to eat.
