Easter at Fontevraud
A culinary performance exploring the Last Supper.
A picture to enter
The performance is imagined as a picture that visitors are invited to enter for a tasting. It depicts a traditional popular image of the Last Supper.
Layers of tasting
In the foreground, the apostles are represented by halos made from parmesan tuiles. In the second layer stand cups of wine like those shared by Christ with his apostles on the eve of his crucifixion. In the third, perspective is defined by two angled sections filled with blood sausage, pork blood, mustard and brioche. The fourth layer brings shared bread and green soups inspired by German Easter traditions: fouées, smooth creams and espuma. The final layer closes this Last Supper with a sign of Easter: traditional Alsatian lamb-shaped cakes, made of sponge cake and coulis. Photo credit: David-Darrault.
