Islands to explore
Look, listen, wander and… eat. The New Map invites the audience to gradually discover islands floating in mist, each with its own geography.
An edible landscape
On the beach, visitors taste the foam of jellyfish made from glowing orange jelly; in the forest, they discover rare flowers and herbs to pick directly from the plants; a geyser erupts with popcorn while cascades of cream spray pieces of edible earth. Frozen areas are infused with tarragon, lemongrass and hibiscus syrups. Almost everything can be eaten. Paprika meringues, eggs with smoked haddock, potato mousse, chicken jelly to melt like so many submerged islands… A journey for taste, eyes and ears, created in collaboration with Jean-Damien Juille for sound design.
