Drink Design
Synaesthetic experiences
Under the auspices of Maison Routin 1883, a multidisciplinary collective of experts is developing a movement around synaesthetic experiences with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, placing syrup at the heart of the creative process.
Multisensory design
These synaesthetic experiences awaken all the senses through multisensory design, serving a story that unfolds throughout the tasting. Liquid stories are staged and ritualised through strong narratives that go beyond the cocktail experience towards an approach closer to haute cuisine. The movement aims to share a creative methodology with the bar world through training, while continuing to develop collections of experiences that explore the possibilities of the discipline.
A multidisciplinary collective
Julie Rothhahn: designer,
Matthias Giroud: mixologist,
Nir Chouchana: barista,
Mehdi Favri and François Veltin: chefs
Hélène Miralles: master syrup maker
The first collection comprises 7 experiences, 7 stories…
“Drink it in one go: speed, shot, hip-hop, back and forth!
See life from above, dominate the world and spread your wings to seize the
present. Fly over skyscrapers, be that hero, think XXL, take off and break
the sound barrier! Swing! A vertical sensation: up and down, this tasting
is a roller coaster...”
A red dot, an emotional starting point to taste, an expert vertical tasting, an appetiser... red in three variations.
Red as power.
Drink red to feel powerful, inventive, invincible.
Red as anger.
Red to taste the volcano’s lava and revolution.
Red as passion.
Red as a kiss, a sunset, a caress on the palate.
“Haiku: cherry blossoms, wet with clouds around the temple bell.
I invite you to take time to savour a fleeting enchantment together, like the sacred moment celebrated in Japan each year as a reminder of the importance and beauty of the present, through the magnificent flowering of cherry trees and their farewell in a shower of delicate petals.”
