Portrait de Julie Rothhahn, designer culinaire, directrice artistique et scénographe

Julie Rothhahn is a designer, art director and scenographer. For over twenty years, she has developed a practice at the intersection of design, gastronomy and staging.

She creates experiences in which a product, a craft, a gesture or a story becomes the starting point for something to be experienced. From research and concept development through to production, her work takes many forms: art direction, scenography, installations, performances, tableware, objects and tasting rituals, imagery, and the development of concepts and guidelines for international projects.

Materials, their transformations and craftsmanship are central to her work. Food is one of her preferred materials: it brings taste, gesture and time into the experience, creating a distinctive relationship between a place, a story and the people who experience it.

Julie Rothhahn collaborates with houses such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dom Pérignon and La Maison du Chocolat, as well as chefs, agencies and institutions in France and internationally.

Alongside her practice, she has taught since 2015 on the Master’s programme in Design & Culinary Arts at the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Reims, where teaching, research and experimentation extend her professional work.
